About Me
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I started creating art at a young age. I watched my grandmother and mother; both were seamstresses and both loved to do crafts. Soon I was beside them following their every move.
I moved to Taos,NM in 1992. Took a class in tinsmithing in 1998 and was hooked!!! Since then I have continued to work with tin and love it! I worked for years doing traditional design but knew I wanted to incorporate color. At the same time I was moving into spirituality, studying Shamanism and other healing modalities. I continue to embrace what I've learned and stay open for more information. I use positive affirmations to help me heal and grow.
In 2008 my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We were studying Eckhart Tolle. We followed Oprah and Eckhart Tolle's webinar when they did "A New Earth". I would read the book to him while waiting for procedures in the hospital; this really helped quiet his mind and helped me cope with what was happening. My husband passed away 5 months after his diagnosis. We had just celebrated 30 years together. I turned to all the "tools" I gathered as a healer, the words of wisdom I learned, and submerged myself for one year to let myself heal .
The experience of dealing with the passing of my husband propelled my artwork into a whole new direction. It came to me one day..... why not mix media and use positive affirmations? I could combine teaching with my art.... what a concept! I was already putting healing energy into my pieces, why not positive affirmations!
It started with messages from my spirit guides. I realized that many others were going through their own challenges and maybe this could help them as much as it did me. So here I am, loving how Spirit works with me, for me, and through me. Being able to create this beautiful healing artwork is a gift from Spirit. I hope this brings you as much joy and healing as it does me.
And now again, following my guidance in the fall of 2009, I am back in Albuquerque, where I continue to learn and grow more each day. Thank you spirit!!!
